Greetings, and welcome to Understanding Music. This is an online course, delivered completely digitally, meaning there is no hard textbook to purchase. The software we will be using is called OnMusic Appreciation, and it can be purchased at the college bookstore, or online, through www.mywebtext.com. It is the OnMusic Appreciation, v.4 edition of the course.
The entire semester will open up on day one of this course, and you can move through it at your own speed and convenience. I will check in every day and grade your assignments in a timely manner. I will also give you feedback on all assignments with an Incomplete grade, to give you another chance to correct, and in order for you to work towards receiving a 100% on your assignment grade.
Given that this course is designed, delivered and set up as a true online course, there will be no 'office hours' in a building, so any communication between us will be either virtual via Skype or FaceTime. However, if we need to chat in real time, I'm happy to do that as well. You simply need to request it.
